Privacy Policy

Last updated: Sep 28, 2026

This policy explains Afterwork’s commitment to protecting your information. The privacy policy informs you how we collect, use, secure and share your Personal Information that we collect when you visit our Websites, use our Services, interact with our social media pages or ads, receive communication from us, or ask questions about our services.

We may change this Policy from time to time. We always indicate the date the last changes were published and we offer access to the last version of our Policy for your review.

If anything is unclear, email us at privacy@useafterwork.com.

At a glance

  • We only ask for what we need to make and distribute your videos: project photos, project details, branding, and access to the channels we publish to.
  • Your files are used only for your videos. We never sell them, and we never use them for another client.
  • We don’t train AI models on your photos. Some tools we use have their own terms; we switch off training where a tool allows it and delete your uploads from AI tools after delivery.
  • We keep project data for up to 12 months after delivery, then delete it.
  • We never sell your personal information.
  • You can ask us to see, correct, or delete your information at any time. We respond within 14 days.
1. Who we are+

Afterwork (collectively, “Afterwork”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) turns home remodeling companies’ project photos into videos and distributes them across their marketing channels. We work with a global team of creative talent.

This policy covers:

  • Visitors to useafterwork.com
  • Prospects who contact us or book a call
  • Clients who use our services, and the information they share with us about their projects

It doesn’t cover third-party websites or platforms we link to, such as YouTube. Those have their own privacy policies.

2. Information we collect+

When you visit our website

  • Usage data: pages you view, how long you stay, how you arrived, your browser and device type, and approximate location. This is collected through cookies and analytics tools, with your consent where required (see Section 7).
  • Server data: our hosting provider automatically logs basic technical information, such as IP addresses, to keep the site secure and running.

When you contact us or book a call

  • Contact form: full name, business email, company name, and your message.
  • Book-a-call form: full name, business email, company name, and your monthly video marketing budget.
  • Newsletter signup: your email address, and whether you open or click our emails.
  • Social media: if you message us, comment, or fill in a form on our social media pages or ads, we receive what you send. The platform (such as Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn) also collects information under its own privacy policy.

When you become a client

  • Contact and business details: contact names, business email, business address, and a phone number only if you choose to give us one.
  • Project materials: project photos, project details and stories, your logo, and branding preferences.
  • Channel access: access to the platforms we publish to on your behalf, such as YouTube, Google Business Profile, Houzz, Pinterest, WordPress, or your email marketing tool. Where a platform allows it, you add us as a manager or user. Where it doesn’t, you share login details with us (see Section 8).
  • Your subscriber list: if we send newsletters for you, we work with your subscriber list inside your existing email platform. We don’t download it or copy it elsewhere.
  • Homeowner information: photos may show a homeowner’s property or belongings. If you ask us to feature a homeowner’s review, name, or photo, we ask you to confirm you have their permission (see Section 5).
  • Payment information: payments are handled by our payment provider. We see the payment amount, date, and payer name, but not your full card or bank details.
3. How we use your information+

We use your information to:

  • Reply to your enquiries and hold the calls you book
  • Create, edit, and deliver your videos
  • Publish and distribute your videos on the channels you’ve given us access to
  • Send invoices and confirm payments
  • Send our newsletter, if you’ve signed up (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • Understand how people use our website, so we can improve it
  • Show our ads to people who have visited our site, if you’ve accepted advertising cookies
  • Keep our website and systems secure, and meet our legal obligations

We don’t use your information for anything unrelated to these purposes without asking you first.

4. Your project files and AI+

Your files are used only for your videos. We never sell your photos or project files, and we never use them for another client’s work.

Where your files live. You share files with us from your own storage, such as Google Drive or Dropbox. To make your videos, we upload them to the creative and AI tools in our workflow. We keep working copies only for the retention period in Section 9.

AI tools we use. We use AI tools to animate photos, produce voiceovers, write scripts, and design graphics. We direct and check every output. Examples include Higgsfield (with models such as Kling, Seedance, and Veo), ElevenLabs, Claude, Canva, and CapCut.

AI training. We don’t use your photos to train AI models. Each AI tool we use has its own terms, and some may use uploaded content to improve their own models. To limit this, we:

  • Turn off model training in every tool that lets us
  • Upload only what’s needed for your project
  • Delete your uploads from AI tools once your videos are delivered

If you want to know which tools will handle your files before we start, just ask.

Using your videos in our portfolio. We only show your finished videos in our portfolio or marketing with your permission. When we do, we usually link back to your website.

5. Homeowner privacy+

The homes in your photos belong to your customers, and we treat them that way.

  • We blur or keep out of frame personal items, such as family photos, documents, and house numbers, where necessary. You can also ask us to remove anything specific.
  • If we feature a homeowner’s review, name, photo, or personal belongings, we ask you to confirm the homeowner has given permission first.
6. Who we share information with+

We never sell your personal information. We share it only with people and services that help us run Afterwork, and only as much as they need:

  • Our creative team. Freelance editors, designers, and developers receive project files (photos, project story, logo) to work on your videos. They never get access to your accounts or login details.
  • Creative and AI tools used to make your videos (see Section 4).
  • Scheduling and publishing tools, such as Later, to post your videos on your channels.
  • Business tools: our email provider, website host, booking tool, newsletter platform (Sender), and payment provider.
  • Analytics and advertising partners, such as Google and Meta, only if you accept those cookies (see Section 7).
  • Legal authorities, if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.

If Afterwork is ever merged or sold, your information may transfer to the new owner under the same protections.

7. Cookies, analytics, and advertising+

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. We use three kinds:

Type What it does Can you turn it off?
Essential Keeps the site working and secure, and remembers your cookie choices No, the site needs these
Analytics Shows us how visitors use the site (e.g. Google Analytics) Yes
Advertising Lets us show our ads to people who visited our site (e.g. Google Ads, Meta) Yes

When you first visit, a banner asks which cookies you accept. Analytics and advertising cookies stay off until you say yes. You can change your choice any time through the cookie settings link at the bottom of the site, or by clearing cookies in your browser.

Videos on our site. Our sample videos are hosted on YouTube. They don’t load until you press play. Once you do, YouTube may set its own cookies under Google’s privacy policy.

Opting out of targeted ads. Under some US state laws, advertising cookies may count as “sharing” your information. You can opt out by declining advertising cookies, or by emailing privacy@useafterwork.com. We also honor Global Privacy Control signals from your browser.

8. Access to your accounts+

We need access to the channels we publish to. We keep that access as limited and as safe as each platform allows:

  • Manager or user access first. For platforms that support it, such as WordPress, YouTube, and HubSpot, you add us as a manager or user. You never share your password, and you can remove us at any time.
  • Login details only when there’s no other option. Some platforms, such as Pinterest and Houzz, don’t allow extra users. In those cases, we store your login details in an encrypted password manager like Bitwarden. Only Afterwork’s account managers can use them. Our freelance team never has access.
  • We only do what you’ve hired us to do in your accounts: publish, update, and manage your video content.
  • When we stop working together, we remove our access and delete any stored login details. We recommend you change any password you shared with us.
9. How long we keep information, and how we protect it+

Retention. We keep project files, scripts, finished videos, and project emails for up to 12 months after delivery. This lets us handle changes and follow-up questions. After that, we delete them. Two exceptions:

  • Invoices and payment records, which we keep as long as tax and accounting laws require.
  • Videos you’ve approved for our portfolio, which we keep while you allow us to show them.

Newsletter subscribers stay on our list until they unsubscribe. Enquiries from people who don’t become clients are deleted within 6 months.

Videos we publish on your channels stay there under your control. Removing them is up to you.

Security. We use secure, access-controlled storage, share files only with the people who need them, and store any login details in an encrypted password manager. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you promptly if a breach affects it.

International processing. Our team and service providers are based in several countries, so your information may be processed outside the United States. Wherever it’s handled, we protect it as this policy describes.

10. Your rights+

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • See the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct anything that’s wrong
  • Delete your information
  • Get a copy of your information in a usable format
  • Stop using your information for marketing or targeted ads
  • Withdraw consent you’ve given, such as to cookies or portfolio use

Email privacy@useafterwork.com with your request. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. We respond within 14 days. We won’t treat you differently for using any of these rights.

If we can’t fully meet a request, for example because the law requires us to keep invoices, we’ll explain why.

11. Children+

Our services are for businesses. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us their information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

12. Changes to this policy+

We may update this policy as our services or the law change. We’ll post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date. If a change is significant, we’ll tell our clients by email.
